Three honour points for a hero or unit on horseback. Cavalry can't move through difficult terrain. If cavalry/horse make an attack in the first or fourth card move, they don't have the speed they want for a swift attack, and the opponent can play combat as normal. If they make an attack in their second or third card move, they are swooping in swiftly to the attack, and their opponent can only draw randomly from the card-deck - rather than playing from their own attack hand (they can still use their activation card). Thus they could make a four long card-length move in their turn, attacking at any stage of their movement by passing the enemy. I think they're much more useful when moving. Conquistadore musket-men were useful in hand-to-hand as well, so treat them as normal in combat.Д¬avalry - I have some ideas on them. With black powder, can add additional +5 to combat result, and unit/hero MUST fall back one long card length if they take any damage from a Black Powder weapon (more of a psychological weapon). Or, could purchase them as a unit of four dogs and one human handler - play like a typical 'short weapon' five-man unit.Д«lack powder weapons and archers - use the optional missile rules. They cost one honour point each, though (kinda expensive, but makes characters well-hard). War dogs - I'm thinking of having them as 'ablative armour' on characters i.e add an extra wound and attack card to a hero. Attacking, defending, waiting for an opening, bluffing the opponent - these are all strategies the player can use in a round of Tribal combat. While cards still have the randomness of the draw from the deck, players can actually be involved in the combat through playing/holding particular cards. Cards determine movement, unit activation and - most importantly - combat.
